Our Sun isn't special. It's going to live a boring life and die a boring death. And it's going to do all of that in a boring part of the galaxy. The Milky Way has a radius of about 16,000 parsecs (52,850 light years), and the Sun sits about halfway between the center and the edge*.
*Galaxies are fuzzy, so they don't really have edges, but we can define a kind of arbitrary edge based on where most of the light stops.
idk... we're in our sun's part of the galaxy, so that makes this part pretty damn exciting imo
