Astronomy Fun Fact #50

In Queen's "Don't Stop Me Now," Freddie Mercury sings "I'm traveling at the speed of light / I wanna make a supersonic man out of you."

Soooo Freddie's technically correct that the speed of light is supersonic because light travels faster than sound (670 million mph versus 770 mph), but the word for traveling at or near the speed of light is "relativistic."

But I guess that wouldn't have sounded as good in the song...
