X-Ray astronomy can only be done from space because Earth's atmosphere blocks X-Ray photons. This makes X-Ray astronomy really expensive because it can only be done with space-based telescopes, but it also made it possible for life to form because X-Ray radiation is really harmful (that's why you should keep track of your X-Ray scans)!

So don't complain about the cost of X-Ray astronomy, because if it were cheaper, you'd be dead.
